Your credentials are a resume, not a pitch

A hard truth: your ideal clients do not care that you are in financial services, and they do not care about the list of accreditations in your headline. That is not a pitch. That is a resume. And prospects get bored of resumes, because there is nothing in a resume to relate to.
The good news is that a compelling pitch only takes one question. The hard part is answering it honestly.
What is the one catalyst in your past that put you in this industry? Something in your story has to do with money, and it is the real reason you do this work. Not "I am passionate about the industry." The real one. The more vulnerable the answer, the more effective the pitch.
“The worst part of your story is the best part of your pitch.”
Dr. Forbes Riley
Dial in on the most authentic reason you do what you do, and that becomes your pitch. Clients need to be invested in you as a person before they trust you with their money.
Authenticity builds connection. Connection builds trust. Trust wins clients.
